Sankara Eye Hospital, Guntur
• Sankara Eye Hospital, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh was inaugurated on 1st March 2004 with the active support of the TANA Foundation, Sankara Eye Foundation USA and philanthropic families in Guntur and near by areas.
Inaugurated the phase-1 with 100 free beds and 20 paid beds on March 1st, 2004. With this capacity we were doing about 10,000 free eye surgeries every year. (Hospital inauguration photos)
Phase-II:
Added additional 100 free beds, operation theatre and eye bank in this phase. 100 free beds were inaugurated on September 11, 2008. Now we are doing about 25,000 free eye surgeries every year. Presently we are covering Guntur, Krishna, Prakasam, Nalgonda and Khammam districts.
In the 2nd half of 2010, eye bank also started functioning. We started receiving eye donations at this facility.
Phase-III:
We are working on expanding the hospital facilities to meet the demand. We are finalizing on the draft for this phase. Tentatively we plan to add the following: LASIK Facility

Expand the paid section
Build the staff quarters
