Sankara Eye Foundation provides Clinical Volunteering, Clinical Observership and Clinical Internship programs at our Sankara Eye Hospitals in India. The programs are designed to accommodate qualifications and levels of experience of the interns. 

Clinical Volunteering Requirements

  • Duration: 2 to 8 week programs
  • For volunteers with no medical background
  • Open to high school students (10th grade and higher) and adults interested in serving the needy

Clinical Observership Requirements

  • Duration: 1 to 3 week programs
  • This program is specifically for those involved in health care services such as
  • Residents in Ophthalmology
  • Medical Graduates (M.D. degree achieved)
  • Undergoing Sub Specialty training in Ophthalmology
  • Geriatric medicine / general medicine Sub Specialty
  • Optometrists
  • Optometry students
  • Public health / hospital administrations students

Clinical Internship Requirements

  • Duration: 3 week program
  • Residents in Ophthalmology
  • Optometrists
  • Public Health Administrators

  • SEH Coimbatore - Clinical Internships, Clinical Volunteering and Clinical Observership
  • SEH Shimoga – Clinical Observership
  • SEH Guntur - Limited Clinical Observership and Clinical Volunteering;
  • SEH Bangalore – Clinical Internships, Clinical Volunteering and Clinical Observership
  • SEH Anand – Clinical Volunteering, Clinical Observership

Accommodations Offered at each Hospital

  • SEH Coimbatore (twin share based on availability)
  • SEH Bangalore (twin share based on availability)
  • SEH Guntur (twin share based on availability for short terms – 1 to 2 weeks)
