SEF, USA has helped restore the sight of so many across India, and working as a youth volunteer with the foundation has also helped open my eyes. My experiences helped me to let go of my ego and discover what it means to serve purely and unconditionally.

My visit to the holy city of Varanasi for the inauguration of the Sankara Eye Hospital, Varanasi, allowed me to see the result of efforts from hundreds of SEF, USA volunteers. I could see the mission firsthand in this ancient city of life and wisdom and bear witness to the deeper philosophy of the foundation by connecting with my teachers and greatest inspirations. While we believe that sight is a gift, what we do with that gift and how we use it to elevate others matters.

SEF, USA uses this belief to impact the lives of so many people and communities through health and education. While volunteering with SEF, USA, I’ve had the privilege of meeting incredible personalities who have created significant changes in the world through their humility and genuine passion. These opportunities have shown me that the greatest people are found all around us. They have inspired in me a drive to help change the world and become a better person.

Learning about myself and the world through SEF, USA has taught me the importance of conquering my ego and fears, allowing me to take on bigger challenges in school and my personal life. It has taught me that true service is not just an act, but a form of unity that changes how we interact with the world each day.”
